The JT Lady Jaguars have officially made their first move of the transfer window, announcing the signing of Amy Chan from the YMCA Lady Hamsters.
For fans who followed the Kira 8 Tournament, Chan is not an unfamiliar face. She has already featured with the team, offering an early glimpse of what she brings to the Lady Jaguars’ setup.
Chan is a young, versatile prospect with an intriguing skill set. Standing at roughly 5’9”, she combines length with mobility and shows flashes of a player who can comfortably operate across multiple positions. She has the instincts of a small forward, the handling and shooting touch of a guard, and the physical presence to hold her own in the post when deployed at center.

Speaking on Chan’s role, assistant coach Cuthbert emphasized her adaptability:
“We are still trying to assess where exactly she can play best, but she is diverse and talented, and that’s a positive for the team.”
He went on to highlight the transition ahead:
“Chan is good at what she does. She played in Division One with her former team, but she now has to step up her game to match the pressure and environment of the WNBL. That’s something we’ve been working on since the end of last season.”
What Chan Brings to the Table
At her age, Chan injects energy, athleticism, and youthful intensity into the squad. Her height gives her a clear edge on the boards, making her a valuable rebounding option, particularly against smaller lineups.
Equally important is her ability to stretch the floor. Chan’s three-point shooting adds spacing to the offense, often forcing opposing centers away from the paint. This gravity opens up driving lanes and creates cleaner looks for teammates—an element the Lady Jaguars will be keen to exploit this season.
With management showing clear intent and ambition ahead of the new campaign, Chan’s signing appears to be just the beginning. All indications suggest the JT Lady Jaguars are preparing to announce another major addition, one that could prove decisive in shaping their fortunes this season.
