“We are coming back stronger, bigger, and ready-to-bang tables.”

After a season of hard-fought battles, narrow wins, and tremendous growth, Coach Cuthbert is eagerly looking ahead to what the JT Jaguars will accomplish in the 2024-25 NBL season. Here’s why he’s counting the days until the 24-25 NBL season.
1. Witnessing the Growth of Both Teams
The JT Jaguars have defined growth and resilience in the NBL. The Lady Jaguars may have started last season with one of the narrowest benches in the league, but their journey showed the heart of a champion. They faced off against the KIU Rangers in the opening game, showing they could hold their own. And by the final game? They defeated that same team to take home the bronze—a powerful comeback that Coach Cuthbert says was just the beginning.

For the Lady Jaguars, 2024-25 isn’t just about maintaining momentum but pushing further. “We want to test our limits,” Coach Cuthbert explains. They’re aiming to use the regular season as a launchpad for the playoffs, with their sights set on nothing less than the finals. As for the Black Jaguars, Coach knows they’ll push beyond the lessons learned last season, turning potential into undeniable skill.
2. New Additions to Elevate the Game
This season, both teams will be surely stepping up their rosters. Since the defense is totally sorted, expect new offensive arrivals in the team to balance the mix. Key players like Rhodah Nagita and Brenda will continue to anchor and adapt during games, ensuring a rock-solid foundation.

Meanwhile, the Black Jaguars have secured the much-anticipated addition of Sifuna Peter from the Canons. “With Sifuna under the Jaguars, you’re yet to see the best of him,” Coach Cuthbert teases. Paired with Chuma, Sifuna is expected to elevate the team, so expect a presence above the rim. Add to that the arrival of PR specialist Ian Asabo, who will amplify the Jaguars’ presence and strengthen their connection with fans.
For the black Jaguars too, I still predict a point guard or 2 joining the team for the next season.
3. Embracing Personal and Collective Growth
For Coach Cuthbert, the journey isn’t just about leading the team but growing alongside it. “As an assistant coach for the best team in the league, I seek to learn and unlearn, just like every player on this team. It’s a collective effort to reach the heights we’re aiming for,” he says. His dedication is true—he and his team pour endless energy, resources, and time into the game, setting themselves apart from the competition with a fierce commitment to success.
This season, the JT Jaguars are coming with an attitude of determination and the belief that they deserve every victory they work for. “We’re here to claim what’s rightfully ours because we truly work for it and put in a lot more than any other team,” Coach declares. The JT Jaguars aren’t just coming back; they’re coming back stronger, bigger, and ready-to-bang tables.
