The NBL regular season has come to an end, and now it’s playoff time. As you know, the top 8 teams on the table qualify to take part in the playoffs and race for the NBL championship title. The same 8 teams in both genders also automatically earn their ticket to the Kira 8, a one-of-a-kind basketball tournament organized by the JT Jaguars BBC. The tournament is expected to kick off immediately after the race to the championship is done, with tentative dates and fixtures underway.
For the men, that means the Nam Blazers, Black Jaguars, Spartans, UCU Canons, Kampala Rockets, City Oilers, Rez Life, and KCCA Panthers are automatically invited. On the women’s side, the JKL Lady Dolphins, KCCA Leopards, JT Lady Jaguars, Lady Canons, KIU Rangers, Miracle Eaglets, Magic Stormers, and UPDF Lady Hawks are also locked in.
What makes Kira 8 different is its purpose. It’s not just another trophy chase; it’s a play with a purpose—a safe space for self-awareness for the basketball players while still giving fans the thrill they love about the game.
And of course, excellence will be celebrated. Expect awards for standout performances, both team and individual, because great effort deserves recognition. 🏆
We’re also open to partnerships and sponsorships for those who want to be part of something bigger than the game.
So keep your eyes on Kira. After the playoffs, the story continues…
