The Kira8 Tournament is fast approaching, and as promised, eight teams will battle at the heart of Kira in the Jaguars den. But before the action tips off, here’s the clean breakdown of the latest changes — who’s out, who’s in, and what it means for the competition.

Over the past few weeks, the lineup has shifted. Both KCCA Basketball Club teams — the Leopards (ladies) and the Panthers (gents) — have officially stepped out of the tournament. Rezlife Saints have also pulled out for their own internal reasons.

But the Kira8 spirit doesn’t back down. The open slots have quickly been filled with teams eager and ready to compete at the same level.

  1. Makerere Sparks step in for the KCCA Leopards, all the way from Div one and look to put up a show in the tournament.
  2. Black Panthers from the DRC join the men’s lineup, filling the gap left by the KCCA Panthers and adding an international edge to this year’s competition.
  3. Berkley Basketball Club takes up the last spot, replacing Rezlife Saints and bringing fresh competition into the mix all the way from Div2

Despite the changes, the organizers remain steady, committed, and fully focused on delivering a successful and memorable tournament.
