The Lady Jaguars are a nightmare matchup for the Magic, so I don’t see why I should predict anything less than total annihilation. By Johnson | September 29, 2025 — 12:30 EAT
Now, I know some people don’t like using strong or harsh language, but the truth remains—we should be able to sweep the Magic Stormers. Credit where it’s due: the Stormers put on a wonderful performance against the KCCA Leopards, knocking them out of the playoffs. That’s no small feat, considering the Leopards had given us problems during the regular season.
As much as I wanted to see how the Jaguars would have settled business with the Leopards in the semis, I guess we’ll never know. In a way, the Leopards still get to walk away with bragging rights—they beat us in the regular season, and we never got a chance for revenge. Regardless, the Magic took them out, and now they are our semifinal opponents.
So again, I ask: why on earth would we fail to sweep this team? The Magic haven’t beaten us since last season, and we’re now a bigger, better, and far more physical team. We should be able to bully them in every corner of the court.
Still, history and numbers alone don’t win games—we need to execute. The Magic are a disciplined side. They play the basics well, defend aggressively, and boast solid three-point shooters and strong rebounders. They didn’t beat the Leopards because they were superior, but because they stayed disciplined and stuck to fundamentals.
For the Jaguars, that means showing up on all cylinders. I have no doubt we’ll start hot in the first half, but we must maintain intensity and leave no room for error. I’ll never forget how the Magic stole a game from us last season—proof that they’re one of those sneaky teams you don’t see coming. We need to be ready.
A sweep is crucial because It buys us time to rest and prepare for the finals, whether against the Dolphins or UCU. More importantly, we’ve put in the work. We are bigger, stronger, and more committed than any other team in this league. On principle, we deserve to reward ourselves with a clean sweep.
If all goes according to plan, business should be closed by Sunday, and we’ll be ready for the finals. Game 1 tips off tomorrow at 7:00 PM at YMCA.
