The JT Lady Jaguars reminded everyone of their potential by delivering a decisive victory against the JKL Lady Dolphins in Game 3. Now, down 2-1 in the series, they face a must-win situation in Game 4 tonight to keep their championship hopes alive and force a Game 5 on Sunday.
Rhoda Naggita has been a standout performer since the quarterfinals, averaging just over 10 points per game. However, she can’t carry the team on her own. “We need to do the things that are working for us consistently: playing good defense and converting on offense,” Naggita emphasized. “The chemistry is all good. We need to bring our A-game, play for one another, consistently do the right things, stay locked in, and want the game more,” she says.

For the Lady Jaguars to extend this series, they need more offensive firepower from their supporting cast. Brenda, Priscilla, and Mai must be aggressive, cutting to the basket and creating scoring opportunities. The interior presence of Mercy B and Sarah Ageno is becoming more pronounced, forming a formidable tandem in the paint. Mercy has proven she can dominate on her own, as evidenced by her perfect double-double in Game 2.
Yet, defense is where the Lady Jaguars truly shine. With a defense that has been shaky at times and an offense still searching for consistency, the Jaguars need to rely on their defensive strength to shut down the Dolphins.
JKL must play close to their peak performance to beat the Lady Jaguars again. They managed to do this in Games 1 and 2, but Game 3 was a wake-up call. Maintaining the high levels of efficiency and production needed to upset the Jaguars in a best-of-five series is no small feat.

Flavia Nakiyinji, JKL’s star guard, has been sensational—arguably the best shooter in this series. But the Lady Jaguars have a deeper roster of talent. With Brenda Kayaga, Rhoda Naggita, and Sarah Ageno all healthy and capable of taking over the scoring duties, the Jaguars possess more collective firepower.
For JKL, there’s little room for error on offense. After allowing an 11-0 run in the first quarter of Game 2, it’s clear that any lapses, especially on offense, will be costly. The Lady Jaguars, meanwhile, are in a precarious position. Despite their dominant Game 3 performance, they can’t afford to let up. They need to play as if Game 3 never happened and stay laser-focused on tonight’s matchup.
The odds lean toward the JT Lady Jaguars if they can execute their game plan with discipline. Will they rise to the occasion? Find out tonight at Lugogo Arena at 7:00 pm EAT.
