Lugogo Arena was set ablaze as the Lady Jaguars faced another setback after losing to the UCU Lady Canons. From the get-go, the game was a rollercoaster of momentum swings, defensive prowess, and clutch plays.

In the first quarter, it was clear that both teams were determined to set the tone early on. The Lady Jaguars, led by Ruth Letaru the speed-star, managed to secure a solid lead with precise shooting and relentless drives that gave the team a strong sense of direction. Ageno’s tenacious defense against the Lady Canons further solidified their advantage. Ageno was able to make up to 6 points, 15 rebounds, and 2 assists. However, the Canons paced up quickly to end the quarter with a 15-10-point margin.

As the game advanced into the second quarter, Mercy Batamuliza became the heroine for the Lady Jaguars with a stronger rebound game contributing 10 points and 24 rebounds. Mercy suffocated the Canons’ offense, denying them second-chance opportunities thus playing a very crucial role in the squad.

The lady Canons however refused to back down, they unleashed a barrage of three-pointers to narrow the gap. Aziida Nabayunga for the lady canons embarked on a mission to raise the bar. They then tightened their defense, holding off the Jaguars to a slim 27-25 lead at halftime.

Nonetheless, the pivotal moment came in the third quarter, as the Jaguars seemed to falter under the relentless onslaught from the lady Canons. Fatigue began to set in, yet no substitution was made. It was at this time that the lady Canons seized control of the game and paved way for their glory.

In the end, the UCU Lady Canons emerged victorious despite the white Jaguar’s efforts to hold them off. It was a game filled with twists and turns, showcasing the intensity and unpredictability of basketball at its finest.
